Narcolepsy

Narcolepsy is a neurological disorder that affects the brain's regulation of sleep and wakefulness. Those who have narcolepsy suffer from sudden sleep attacks, usually several times a day.

After that Pandemrix vaccination proved to be associated with an increased incidence of narcolepsy, investigation of the situation and series of surveys were started. The need for a quality registry for the registration of diagnosed cases with clinical data and treatment data was obvious and started at the initiative of the MPA and Swedish neuroregsiter.

The purpose of the registry is also to contribut to equal care nationally with better opportunity to evaluate the treatment effect.
